I really wanted to do this ride and train for it. Unfortunately I also want to go to the BNSW Discovery weekend in Orange a bit more. Damn.

Would you know if there will be marshalling / road closure for any of the routes? Ta

I wanted to have a ride for 100km.But it clash with BNSW Discovery as I will be volunteering for 4 days at Orange.

According to the site, registrations for all distance rides are now closed. And emails from the event organisers suggest that roads haven't been closed for the ride - or am I misreading the part about having to wait for designated escort times? And you're on your own if you're still riding after 1.30. Seems like this might be a never-before-run-and-never-to-be-repeated-classic, with talk that the route will be changed next year.

Should still be a fun day - fingers crossed the weather stays like this!

Thank goodness they shifted the 12:30 cutoff to 1:30pm! if not I might have take off the number tag and take a train back.

The final approval from authorities is subject to two escorted sections.

Police have requested a rider escort north of the Old Toll Gates at Berowra. These escorts will leave at approximately 8.05, 8.20 and 8.40, depending on rider arrivals. Slower riders should be ready to start the ride promptly at 7.00 to ensure timely arrival.

A motorcycle escort will control speed down Bobbin Head from Kalkari (on the return only – about a 10 minute trip).

Weather forecast looks good, and I've been tapering and carb-loading like a champion. Shame about the lack of training. If you see a guy in a plain white jersey struggling at the back of the pack, that'll be me. Come say hi.
