Event Description

Forage through your dress-up boxes and find your best, most colourful and zany retro outfit and join in the colour and fun of Manly's first Retro Ride!

The Manly Retro Ride scheduled for Sunday 25 September was rained out. However, the great news is that it has been rescheduled to Sunday 6 November 2011.

This is the first year running so it would be great to see you there to make it a *star* event.

We will be riding from Manly Lagoon Park (off Cameron Avenue, Queenscliff) to Shelly Beach.

Free event. All welcome. No bookings required. Free sausage sizzle at the end. Helmets required.

When we get to the southern end of Manly Beach we will be taking a detour in some of the back streets. We won't be riding along Marine Parade.

I posted the link to this event on the Tweed Ride Group and also the Vintage and Retro Group.

G3A, as you may know, Marine Pde is open to cyclists on weekdays only. I think it's because the pedestrian traffic there is pretty heavy on weekends. It's a lovely stretch, I make a point of taking it at least once a week(day).

Maybe if the Retro Ride gets really popular a case could be made for letting it through...in the meanwhile a touch of Darley Road, well it'll work up an appetite I guess :)

I need to wangle a leave pass from the better half so I can come along on my genuine retro iron horse. Yeehaaaa. (p.s I have just granted a unilateral leave pass.) Hemingways highly recommended for refreshments.

Ted - is Hemingways the one on the balcony upstairs above skate shop & near the surf hire place? Can't wait to see your old roadster. Mine's a Pashley, but not very old.
