Event Description

Each day is an adventure. We ride. We eat. We drink. We have a laugh.

Then we get up in the morning and do it all over again

Some days are hard, but the campsite is your home away from home - hot showers, massage and the Handle Bar, where you
can put your feet up and enjoy a coldie and good company.

Then the sun dips. The stars come out... and the Mawson Man comes out to play!

Numbers strictly limited to 200 seats.

2009 Outback Odyssey testimonials

"Yes, back on the bike yesterday. I was surprised to find I'd learned some skills on the Mawson, as I went straight down our steep drive (bits of which need grading again) without a second thought. I used to get off and walk down some rockier bits. The Odyssey was one of the best holidays I've had. My knee didn't always agree but I got used to arguing with, and overriding, its opinions on things. I can't believe that I willingly got up at 5.45 to shimmy into lycra then pack a wet tent up to be on the bike (most days) by 8. I don't even do that on work days! The company, scenery and support were just fantastic. Having a bar supplying red wine every night was inspired. Thanks so much to you, BSA and the vollies." Kate.

"I've been meaning to write since the Outback Odyssey just to let you know how much I appreciated all the work you both did. You and all the volunteers are just amazing. The support and help that is so freely and sensitively given is just a gift from the gods and these events just would not happen without it, I know. The ride just exceeded all my expectations. I don't think I've ever had such a good time in all my life." Grasshopper.

"I must congratulate and thank you for the high standard of event you ran , being the Outback Odyssey. It was my first experience of this type of event and I came away having had two of the best weeks of my life. You and your wonderful volunteers were very professional and friendly and I am in awe of all of your efforts. This ride was a fantastic advertisement for South Australia and it's varying landscapes and cultures. I could not imagine a better way to see it than on a bike. I enjoyed the company of so many of the participants and have not stopped singing your praises since returning home to Perth. I will be fronting up for the next Odyssey and hope to bring some friends. I filled out your survey but was unsure whether it sent. If not let me know and I shall complete it again. Many thanks again on a brilliant job." Drew.
