Tell and bring your friends and family.

Is it better if we bring bikes along? I would normally catch the train on a winter evening, but maybe lots of bicycles would help to get the message across.

If you can't bring a bike bring a banner or helmet.

So wish I could come to this but is impossible on Tuesday I'm afraid - I'll be there in spirit. Make some noise !!!!!!

This one is so important I would really like to be there. Unfortunately my daughter is doing her trial HSC this week and has maths on Wednesday (after English today and History tomorrow). I will check with her as to whether she minds me being out on Tuesday night - have to give her priority.

Is the plan to stand and chant or cycle along and chant?

Can we all bring bright front & rear lights!
Its going to look pretty stupid for Alan if he gets his head on TV trying to say there's no cyclists - while there's 100 front & rear lights flashing & lighting him up!
& It'll make a great effect at night!

Great idea. and we could sing, in the spirit of Queen.

"We love to ride our bicycles, we love to ride our bikes,
We love to ride our bicycles, Alan Jones get on your bike!"

Dear SydneyCycleways supporters

Thank you for coming along to the Town Hall tonight at such short notice.

As you’re probably aware there a number of events happening tonight including the Friends of Barangaroo event inside the Town Hall and a possible Anti-Cycleways Protest.

We are anticipating some media interest, so BikeSydney would like to recommend a couple of pointers on what to do tonight:

• Firstly, be positive. This is not a protest, it’s a rally of support for building the Sydney cycleways network. If someone from the media contacts you, cultivate positive stories about cycling.

• Don’t be reactive or negative. If anti-cycleways protestors or Alan Jones turn up, don’t engage with them in any fights or name calling. The media are always looking for ways to represent cyclists as rabid ratbags. Just don't buy into the arguments of the narks.

• Meet at St Andrews Square to the side of Town Hall. Avoid blocking the passage of pedestrians as they’ll be many people wanting to enter the Town Hall. If you’re riding in to the city, comply with all normal traffic regulations and don't take up multiple lanes of traffic.

Some suggestions for other things you can do include:

• Put your bike lights on and ding your bells. Let’s cultivate a festive spirit.

• Join us in song. We’ve proposed to sing a chorus to the theme of Queen’s bicycle to the words:
“We love to ride our bicycles, we love to ride our bikes,
We love to ride our bicycles, Alan Jones get on your bike!”

Lets let the people of Sydney hear our voices united.

Look forward to seeing you there and lets have a fantastic night.

All the best,

Adrian
