Cycling in Sydney Australia

I am new to the city. Can anyone advise me of the best/safest/quickest routes to commute from the Spit to Cowper Wharf Road at Woolloomooloo?

I sometimes go the opposite way and I go via the ferry. Once you get to the city using the ferry you have a super quick ride down to Woolloomooloo.

Yes you could also ride the whole way as well but I do love the novelty of catching the ferry with my bike.
There was a discussion about the best way to get up the hill from the spit. It seems you will have a choice
Parriwi or Pearl Bay

I rode some of this route recently, which is some of the way, except I crossed the Warringah Fwy at Ridge St,

Can't help from the southern end of SHB.

Parriwi is the best way. Military/Spit Road is like a river during peak hours (takes ages to cross), so you are better off keeping to one side of it unless there is a pressing reason not to (like more hills & laziness :)).
Yep that's the way I'd recommend
I do the southern end of the trip several ways...

Bridge-Rocks-Quay-up the elevator to the Cahill path then across the Botanic Gardens from the park maintenance depot (verboten but doable if respectfully slow and sneaky observant for rangers in golf buggies)

Bridge St or Hunter to the Pink Palace then across the Domain (legal)

Bridge or Hunter then down the expressway in the breakdown lane, left at the bottom of the hill into Cowper Wharf Rdy.

Down the back of the Art Gallery and elevator to Bourke St.

Whatever you fancy to St Mary's Rd, left onto Sir John Young Crescent and rt on to Cowper Wharf Rdy (this is my usual take-the-lane route)
