Cycling in Sydney Australia
A re-kindling here: tried the downloadable "cyclists may use whole lane" and found it to be too much for a cage driver to comprehend.
"give way to cyclists" gets thru the numskull better, but has apparently been superseded by "cyclists may use whole lane" in the US
Which are we going for?

Almost as difficult as the choice between either Queanbeyan or Canberra as my next touring destination. Mike and Mal Leyland could not have made them sound more exciting. (Thanks, WarrenH.)
On topic: Maybe go with the one less US-oriented?

OVERTAKE ME LIKE I'M YOUR MOTHER
NOT YOUR MOTHER-IN-LAW
YOU OWN A CAR
NOT THE ROAD
Permalink Reply by Martin Geliot on April 13, 2012 at 1:41pm Has to fit over "BICYCLE LANE" or alternatively over one of the useless advisories.
Permalink Reply by Kylie on April 13, 2012 at 12:42pm I'm not following...where is it that you want to put these? What message are you trying to get across? Sorry if I'm missing something, I'm just not sure what you're aiming for.
I like the idea of "reformed bike lover" slapped on the back of cars that are driven aggressively at me ;-)

We were hoping to address door zone lane signage, so the driver can see that the cyclist is allowed to shun the dodgy lane and use the road. Additionally we wanted drivers to know that at pinches, such as approaches to roundabouts and traffic calming devices, they must give way to cyclists (as is signed in Summer Hill).
But we never made a decision about what our decals to go over useless/misinforming signage should say.
Permalink Reply by rococoabean on April 13, 2012 at 1:30pm Slapping a sign on a car - in the form of a magnet, as I think has been discussed elsewhere on SC - is a fine idea, Kylie, but doesn't the term 'reformed' at least somewhat imply 'change for the better'... and someone driving a car at you would tend to imply 'change' in the other direction? (Or did I miss sthg? :-)
