Female cyclist required for healthy lifestyle video

The pitch

True North Media is casting for a female cyclist aged 25-35 years to be the central talent in a short lifestyle video for a well known ASX-listed healthcare company.

The video

The clip will feature in a currently running healthy lifestyle campaign. It will be posted on the company website and on social media channels, commencing in September.

Skills & requirements

The role calls for a woman to speak about the role of cycling in her life and its perceived benefits. We’re therefore seeking a confident, articulate woman who owns a bike, cycles regularly, and who has a genuine passion for cycling. The role requires cycling in parklands in an inner Sydney location.

Motivation

This is not a paid role, so your motivation would be a desire to contribute to a positive healthy lifestyle campaign promoting cycling among young women.

Time commitment

The successful candidate would need to be available for a one-day film shoot commencing some time from 10th to 17th August.

How to apply

Send a short biography, including your name, age, email, mobile number and a recent photo of you cycling. In 50 words, say why you want to support this campaign.

Send your application to cycling@truenorthmedia.com.au

Free? I'd hope that a well known ASX listed health care company would have had a bit more budget availble than that.

Reminds me somewhat of this http://www.catherinedeveny.com/columns/2013/6/13/equal-not.html

But they'll be famous because they will have a video of them on social media!!!!

Thanks for your feedback. As stated, this is a role for a women motivated by a desire to contribute to a positive healthy lifestyle campaign promoting cycling among young women. Like those who contribute to Wiki and countless other positive causes, there are millions of people who contribute their time and talents gratis because it aligns with their values. Best regards and keep on cycling, DG

An ASX-listed wiki or other positive cause, eh?

Yes. And motivation. And all the other skills and requirements. DG

Thanks for your suggestion, Paul. We'll pass it on. For now, if you think you know someone that might fit the bill, feel free to pass on the opportunity. DG

Ha!! LOL, thanks for the great read.

At the end, Catherine Deveny did say that she was off to ride her bike. Hey Dan, why don't you ask her?

Still no takers to star in a "lifestyle video for a well known ASX-listed healthcare company" for free?? Come on ladies, what's wrong with ya's??

don't understand why you are not paying. If it's worth profiling the company its worthwhile paying.

Hi Dan, I am not going to mention the payment thing what I am going to say is that I hope the video doesn't just show a female cycling through a park as if its just something that is done for fun. I hope that it includes riding to work, friends, cafes, uni, shops, touring to show that its an everyday thing and anyone can do it. You mention the video will be filmed in local parklands. That doesn't show everyday cycling.

I would also like for you to clarify why you said 'perceived benefits'? It makes me think that you aren't looking at this video from a cyclist's point of view but from a non cyclist point of view. If that is the case, your video will not be as good as what it could be.

I hope you don't take my comments negatively as I would love more women/girls cycling. Take it from a female who is passionate about cycling, your video sounds like it needs improvement.

Hi KIm, thanks for your comments and questions.

The role calls for a woman to speak about the role of cycling in her life and its perceived benefits. This means we'd like the talent to tell us about the benefits she derives from cycling - be they social, physical, commuting, sustainability - whatever - it's about her perceptions, not anyone else's. I hope that clarifies it.

The clip isn't about everyday cycling. The role calls for a confident, articulate woman who owns a bike, cycles regularly, and who has a genuine passion for cycling - and who can speak about the role of cycling in her life. The piece isn't about everyday cycling, it's about the value that one woman derives from cycling.

The filmed vision is incidental to the story rather than central - parklands was mentioned to indicate that the piece won't be done on major highways in heavy traffic. There's certainly scope to shoot outside of parklands - that's entirely possible - and a call we'll make as the story unfolds.

Thanks again for your comments and queries, Kim. If you know someone appropriate that might be interested, please feel free to pass on the message.

Dan

Perhaps don't shoot the messenger.

Hey Dan, I know someone who may do it for you. Does it matter if she is a lesbian?
