I did this last year (well 50km challenge - I was only just new to my road bike) and loved it. This year I am doing one of the other distances - not sure which yet. Anyway I remember last year a few people on this site were disappointed they did not know about it earlier so I thought I would post the recent email from the organisers in time for some last minute training for those of you interested:)
If you have ever ridden out the back of Canberra in the Brindabella area you will know this is seriously undulating! So if you like a hilly challenge - this is for you. You will of course also get to see some lovely scenery;)

Fitz’s Epic Challenge 207 km: a hill grinding odyssey (3300 m ascent)
Fitz’s Classic Challenge 165 km: a daunting challenge with plenty of climbing (2300 m ascent)
Tharwa Challenge 105 km: this one will sneak up on the complacent (1300 m ascent)
Tidbinbilla Challenge 50 km: designed specifically to challenge newcomers (800 m ascent)
Fitz’s Challenge rides are run along the same lines as an Audax Randonnee with the appropriate time limits – but are not formal Audax rides.
Fitz's Challenge has joined forces with the Audax Alpine Classic to offer riders some of the most challenging cycling experiences in Australia. Both events share the same official Charity Beneficiary OCF (the Oncology Children’s Foundation) and with the new alliance will certainly “move mountains” for OCF in their quest to eliminate childhood cancer. Use Fitz's as you first major summer event and as pre Christmas training for the Audax Alpine Classic.
You can register at the start on the day.

Again, prospective riders should note that this event is not a race but a personal challenge!
