Cycling in Sydney Australia

The idea was raised a few weeks ago for a party to celebrate hitting the 1000 member mark. I loved the idea, but couldn't decide on an option that would keep everyone happy.
So I gave up on doing that!

I've decided we're going to do two things. A night time event, close to the city that is also going to allow some Tour viewing, dinner and a couple of drinks, and a ride in the day ending in a picnic / BBQ as well somewhere more central, most likely at SOP.

Everyone that was at the first birthday party last year at the Alexandria Hotel thought it was a great venue, so I've decided to go back there. They are very bike friendly, lots of space to put bikes, good food, and will let us watch the tour stage on the big screen.

So it's Saturday the 11th of July.
7:30pm start for catching up and meeting people
Food if you want to order some
The tour coverage starts at 10pm and I think we might put on some bike related viewing earlier.
The 11th is Stage 8 of Le Tour, Andorre-La-Vieille to Saint Girons. It features a decent climb early in the stage so we can see some fun riding before the lantern rouge sweeps us up and sends us home.

Oh and we'll have some fun door prizes too.

The address is

The Alexandria Hotel
35 Henderson Road
Corner Henderson
Road and Garden
Street
Alexandria

I've created an event, anybody who is interested in attending can you please RSVP there so we can give the venue an idea of numbers for their staffing.

Hope lots of you can make it along, lets have a party!

I've created another thread to talk about and organise the daytime event.

Hi Sydney Cyclists

Congratulations on your membership achievement from Vancouver, BC, Canada,
and from MOMENTUM magazine ( www.momentumplanet.com ).

Perhaps you can share our greetings with the cyclists at your party.

And by all means have a look at MOMENTUM -- it is available free online at the website above.

Might be interesting to have something from you for the magazine if someone could put a brief item together -- preferably with a photo or two.

Ron that is a fine magazine. I read an issue word for word. AND I loved my week cycling there last Sept.
