Looking for a Second Hand Road Bike - 54-56cm
Hi
I"m looking to starting cycling and possibly join a club, hopefully do a triathlon as well. I've being doing some research into it and found a begineers bike cost about $1200-1500.
Also there doesn't seem to be many second hand bikes for sale in Sydney.
I don't really want spend that much for the simple reason, athough I run and swim fairly often, I'm not sure if I will take to it or not
I'm using a mates 58-59cm cell bike at the moment which unfortunately is too big for me.
So if anyone knows of anyone selling a second hand 54-56cm bike let me know..
Also any advice would be appreciated

There's a not many shops shops that do second hand, but try asking at your locals. There's always lots on the web. Bike Exchange has lots of listings and Farkin has a few roadies amongst the mountain bikes.
I've bought a couple of bikes off eBay but I'd recommend that you sort by location and go and see it first.
For clubs see Cycling NSW . Many club web sites also have for sale links. You just have to click around a bit.

If you're a triathlete you could also try the tri clubs. Their members always seem to be selling expensive road bikes that have only been outdoors for racing.

I have a Lemond Tourmalet (ultegra rear derailer o/wise 105/ silver with green stickers, carbon front fork) which I think is a 56 cm frame ( I am 6ft 3). It is approximately 5 years but has been in my garage unused for three years and is still in good knick. It has a scratch on one of the stickers that is just superficial (caused by packing the bike when travelling to Townsville in 2004 for CCIA bike ride to Cairns).
I commute on a flat bar bike and have 2 kids so never seem to get out on the road bike on the weekends. Most of its life has been spent doing 3 gorges run, Akuna Bay and Pie in the Sky run on weekend when I lived in Turramurra three years ago. Since living in Longueville it has collected dust.
I bought it new. I will sell for 1200 but no less as it is worth more to me to keep it in the vain hope that I might get out on it one weekend. Call me on 0400 404 642
