Cycling in Sydney Australia

So Rob was musing a few months back that cycling shoes are all ugly and he wanted something more attuned to his hipster fashion sensibilities :) (sorry Rob)

I present to you..without further comment... Retrofitz!

LOL

I note that they do have my favourites, Onitsuka Tigers, listed.

I really don't see the point, though. Toe clips with double leather straps are serving me fine, I wear whatever shoes I like and I don't have to do anything stupid to the soles of my favourite shoes, rendering them shite for walking around when off the bike.

After reading Grant Peterson's book cover to cover this week too, I'm feeling quite happy with the decision to reject clipless. I'll even be going toe clips and straps on the racing bike I'm getting this coming week :)

Shouldn't that be unracing bike?

:) No, it will be a racing bike - I've already got my unracing bike sorted.

but not for Speedplays apparently.

Yeah but seriously who uses Speedplays?

The Linux of the cleat world.

Discerning riders!  There's something quite attractive about a lolly-pop.

(Linux - open source and based in a philosophy of science and knowledge that says this stuff should be shared.  Speedplay - not so much.)

Plus they come in pretty colours!
Me! Apparently I got over my dilemma too.

Oh dear... O_o

What about shoe wheels? So you call them ugly.

Thanks Damian,

I've often wondered about doing something like this. Will post a picture soon as it will explain.

Gawsh, I can see it now.  People fitting their own cleats and the shoe sole just twisting when they attempt to unclip.  Cue sprawl of shame and new shoes!
