Bridge itself is a sound idea, lots of hirise going up all around it, and the shortcut will make walking shorter for quite a few trips.

Criticisms - I don't like the deprioritizing of the through path and prioritizing of the bridge path on the north side.  I would only do such a thing if they were going to replicate a similar approach on the south side of the bridge and hook up the shared path on the other side of the bridge as part of this project.   Since the bridge is just dumping riders out onto a street, I don't think it should have such priority on its entrance.   I also expect that better designs would make the stairs unnecessary.

Just what will be the best route into Parra from here? Depends where you want to go. Eventually there will be a path around the cliff on the north side, to the existing path opposite the ferry terminal, which leads to Church St. Or if you went across the Gasworks Bridge to get to that end of Parramatta there will be an eventual riverside path on that side too, with a sharp 180 deg left off the bridge down a ramp to the path. Maybe they should put a ramp heading west off the bridge instead of the sharp left ramp. Or you might just want to get on to the road network via (maybe) Noller St.

As for the north side, a three way ramp system off the bridge would be ideal, west, north and east. Pedestrians could use the ramps, so no need for steps.
