The 2012 budget papers show that the government has made a deliberate decision to slam the door on Victoria's bike riders.
The foundation of the State's bike infrastructure investment, the VicRoads Bicycle Program, has been slashed to zero.

For all that thje man with the bow tie presided over and seemed to achieve...it seems a "car town" to me. It is pure hell on those Melb ring roads. The Govt has just had a lapse and needs a good boot. I am sure that will now happen.

Rumour has it they urgently want money to spend on a road tunnel, to replace the Westgate Bridge which is not all it was cracked up to be.

That graphic deserves a bigger display. At first I couldn't understand what the dotted arrow was. Was it a trend line? Surely not cos funding has been going steadily up. Then I realised what it was pointing at (er, can you point at a nothing?)
