Woy Woy Road Road Trip Trip 200km map.
Dear all Follyers (and BRM secretaries)
After a fair bit of thought and inspecting the weather reports for tomorrow and the weekend, we have decided to change the ride we had proposed for this Saturday. Our Wisemans Folly ride passed through a lot of regions predicted to be flooded by this weekend. The River Road has some low sections by the river past a lot of water ski places that have been given a flood warning, as well as some dirt sections that could be quite muddy by now. There is also a low level bridge/causeway near Cattai that has the potential to be flooded. In addition, our ride goes through Morgan Road over the ford at the top of Oxford Falls - and this road is currently shut (but there is a high level pedestrian bridge that can be used). There are alternative routes here, but not really out at River Road - and that is only on the 200! The 300 goes via the Lower Portland Ferry and back through Ebenezer and Windsor - all areas currently having flood warnings. As such, we have decided to change our ride to be the 'Woy Woy Road Road Trip Trip' 200 and 300km versions. If you don't want to do these rides, we can organise a credit note for your entry fee to be transferred over to a ride of your own choosing for a later date. Please find attached the info sheet for the 'Woy Woy Road Road Trip Trip' routes. Please feel free to contact me about these changes if you wish.
Regards
Ian and Katherine
Permalink Reply by robflyte on March 1, 2012 at 1:53pm thanks, it took me 30 mins to put all the right left turns in on the Garmin for the other ride. Won't be bothered this time, just follow the course.
Permalink Reply by robflyte on March 3, 2012 at 7:33pm congrats to all that finished despite the many punctures. 9h47m total time for me, beat my PB by a whole 3 minutes, woohoo.
Permalink Reply by Si on March 3, 2012 at 8:32pm Good work. How was the weather? I spent most of the day amused by the fact there was little rain, at least in Manly/Freshwater.
Permalink Reply by robflyte on March 4, 2012 at 6:05am just enough light rain to keep you cool, just enough wet roads to keep your rims grimy.
Amused? is that like just a little p1ssed off? You may have averted a puncture or 2, I think most riders had 1 or 2.

Permalink Reply by Si on March 5, 2012 at 9:30am Amused as in, I thought of posting something like you should all thank me for keep the weather god's wrath away by not riding. I can almost guarantee that if I had ridden then the weather would have been far worse :).
Permalink Reply by robflyte on March 5, 2012 at 9:39am I'll say thanks for keeping the heavy rain at bay.
You may have missed a ride but you got to be with your son and wife and that's a winner in anyone's book.
Permalink Reply by robflyte on March 4, 2012 at 8:23am Brisbane Waters Drive, pull up behind a blue Ford Falcon at the lights, he is readin the newspaper. Lights go green, he is slow to reacte since his eyes are elsewhere. He pulls away still with newspaper draped across the wheel and head tilted down.
My camera was not on.
Riding out of Woy Woy was exciting, like falling out of a plane without a chute is exciting.
