Cycling in Sydney Australia
It's that time of the year again for the Bridge Run and Sydney Marathon.
As usual, the athletes in wheelchairs are provided escorts on road bikes and this year the crew are short a couple of women to escort some of the women wheelchair competitors.
For at least one of the spots it's just the bridge run and you don't need to be super fast.
Got Sunday morning free and are able to come and help ?
If so, give Marty a call on 0434 923 959 and tell him Damian sent you!
Thanks if you can help!!
or email firstname.lastname@example.org ~*~ Even if you can't come this year, we will need female riders to escort the girls in chairs next year, so contact us if interested. It's really inspirational, and so much fun :-) Thanks Damo!
Last year was my first time having been invited and helping out the marathon distance wheelies. This year I'm on the Bridge Run with the Junior Wheelies (Rio Olympic hopefuls - this recently 40-yr old is slightly nervous). We do have a good number of riders but as Marty and Damian have said some female riders would be awesome to come along. ;) It's an awesome morning out and why fast-walk (apparently that's called running) when you can be out on the awesomeness of a pair of bicycle wheels and doing fun stuff like riding on the verboten parts of SHB.
I second this. Great way to spend a morning on the bike. Sydney CBD and Harbour bridge with no motorised traffic? Awesome.
And watching the wheelies complete, being able to help and encourage, or just chat, is fantastic. You could never get a better way to watch an event.
