So, one of my goals this season is to complete a Super Series (200, 300, 400 and 600) on top of the Year Round Randonneur. Partially for its own sake, I've been wanting to push beyond the 200km mark, and partially due to the fact that it will be necessary for entering the Sydney to Melbourne 1200 in November.

Looking forward across the rest of the season, the following is the list of all rides 300km or longer in NSW

A number of these rides can be done as permanents:

300 - Woy Woy Rd Rd Trip Trip, Winery Wander (also Hawkesbury Valley Randonnee and a ride to Cessnock)

400 - Singleton Tour (also a different Singleton Route).

600 - The Two Day Loop

At this point I'm looking at doing the Lower Hunter Randonnee (300km) on March 9 and Singleton Tour (400km) on April 6. I would have liked to do the Wing It West 300 for a change of scenery, not to mention Rob is organising it, but I've got concert tickets that day.

That then leaves me with all of the North Sydney options for the 600. My preference would be to do either the Festum Prophetae or Two Day Loop as both will have riding through the west of Sydney as well as the north, for a bit of variety without having to get to a non-Northern Sydney start. Anyone else in?

concert tickets, what the?

My wife and I are both violist and Yuri Bashmet, the world's foremost viola virtuoso, has a concert that day at 2pm, so no riding for me that day.

well that is worth a day off the bike

That is a typo, it is a 6 o'clock start.

I'll still be doing the Year Round Randonneur, which means a 200km ride every month on top of the super series. I'll obviously be riding the two that I'm organising (September 14 - Going to the 'Gong, October 6 - K2), but I haven't gone through the rest of the season to plan the 200s.

Well, I have the same plan this year, that is YYR plus the Super Series. Next ride will be "Get Along", then maybe a 300 in March, so might see you on LHR.

I have a few of these earmarked and a few 200s.

Tar n Dirt 200

Bilpin 200

Wing It West 300

The 2 Day Loop 600

I have not chosen a 400 yet, maybe a solo permanent, maybe the Festum 400 in June which is about where I had 2 x 200s back to back planned.

I have a Berry 200 to Lithgow tagged as well.  Other 200s as I see fit, family/work/stress depending.

Yeah, I figure there are enough 200s that I don't need to worry about planning ahead for them. Permanents are always an option, but I'd prefer to do longer than 200 with a bit company.

The Singleton Tour (400km) on April 6 is in my forward plan at this point.

Locked and loaded for the Ferry long way round on Sat. Hope it stays cool and dry.

Today is the final day for submissions and to sign the petition to the federal government in support of cycling infrastructure.

If you support this effort please let your friends and colleagues know about it ASAP

cheers

I was meant to do this ride. Awoke at 04.30 to heavy rain, and the radar showed a lot of rain to the north, so I bailed.

Did you do it?

well I did and yes it rained for a lot of the ride.  Your choice of not coming was not a bad one but I am glad I went anyway.

Pencilled in Coal Valley 400 on 9 Mar. I reserve the right to chicken out at the last minute.
