Audax Riders

Audax rides are non-competitive long distance tours by bicycle, called "randonnees". The challenge of Audax is not in racing, but in riding at your own pace. Rides are open to all reasonably fit riders - non-Audax members are most welcome to join.

Bill: no one at controls just like our normal rides. There is some provision for recording your own progress on the brevet card when you can't find a random local to sign it for you. In this case he'd have missed out those nice stamps too.

Anyone still waiting for brevets to come back? I have checked the 'brevet status' page and most of the ones I am waiting for are 'green', but I have nothing back since the 'winery wanderer' in July. A couple are for permanents (100km) so do they take longer?

Is bike route toaster working? Seems not to be displaying the map, anyone else found the same issue or have a workaround?

So I did not complete SM1200, should I be embarrassed wearing the great looking jersey?

Nice jersey, but the rule in our house at least is: no finish, no bragging rights.

I was prepared to hand mine back to the organisers if I didn't complete.

Wear whatever you like. I rode around the city in the rain last week wearing KOM polka dots.

expensive jersey, I better get good use out of it.

I was chatting with Mark Thomas (27 x 1200s) last week and he reckons 1200s, (unlike 200s), never get easier, even after 10, 20, ...
If Jersey was only for finishers they would only give them out at the finish, not the start?
Was there a medallion for finishing?
Comment by Garry Armsworth on November 25, 2013 at 4:07pm
I am of the view that if you start with the intention of finishing then you are entitled to wear it whether you are successful, DNF or HD.

All 1200s have a medal for finishers.

I appreciate a 1200 is a big effort whether completed or not, but my family and immediate friends would consider it unethical if I wore a jersey I hadn't fully earned. Some of them have been known to refuse jerseys for other events they've almost completed. I would be loathe to lower that level of integrity.
