Bicycle Commuting

All of us who do it know the benefits of getting to work on a bike. You arrive earlier (usually), happier (usually), it's cheaper, it's healthier and it's a great way to get rid of the days stresses.

The Sydney Easy Riders are a commuting group based on the North Shore.

Or if you're in the inner west, the BikeBus is a great way to find a group of people riding to work in the same direction.

So is it some special Drive With Your Eyes Closed Day today?

Avoided 2 SMIDSYs on the way to work this morning. Normally, I only get one every few months.

I just put my big winter headlight onto the bike last night too. It's like a damn searchlight!

One was at Fairlight roundabout. A white van across straight in front of me. If I was as blind as him, I'd have gone under it.

Second at the back of the mall on Old Pittwater Rd turning right into Cross St - a bomby looking car came out of Cross and started to turn right across me.

Are you sure it was SMIDSY or just MIDLAIDGAFA*

Or that you were on a bike so you don't actually count which is an attitude seemingly becoming more prevalent.

*Mate, I didn't look and I don't give a rat's anyway, said with no hint of any "sorry".

Oops! Seaforth roundabout!

Could be NA. A high probability that it was MIDLAIDGARAIRTTALTTBR.RIIBHBRJBTRBIAOK!*

* Mate, I didn't look and I don't give a rat's anyway. I read the Telegraph and I listen to talk back radio. Racism is illegal but hating bike riders just because they ride bikes is AOK!
