Hi - thought I should pop up in here and say Hi. I fixed my 20 year old Bianchi a few weeks ago, and have finally settled on 42/16 (or 71"). perfect commute gearing. Biggest shock i got was jumping back onto a SS with freewheel the other day - I wondered why the pedals stopped turning, until I realised I'd have to keep turning them myself - funny how you forget old habits so fast. We have a great bike shop in Auckland that is catering for the fixie crowd really well - selling singleators to Teckno non sti levers and all in between.

Anyone know where I can have a bike frame sandblasted and powdercoated? I inherited an old racer frame with semi-horizontal dropouts which would make a reasonable fixie, but it really needs a paintjob. Any ideas?

You could just take it to a panel shop. I saw a bike being sprayed at Camperdown Smash Repairs.
