So, it seems that those that control the trains hate bikes (at least during "peak" times). They do have an exception, a folded bike that is in a bag. My response to hearing that was, "So, you allow…Continue

A great bike peter but unfortunately they do not fold rather they a disassembled and are then able to be placed in a rigid case. It is a slow operation. Almost always built with derailliers they are sort of bespoke construction and are built, I think, on the NW coast of USA. They cost multiples of the price of a Brompton which itself is not inexpensive and what you actually pay depends on how you specify it. MattS

Peter when you wrote that the bikes you saw were Bike Fridays I have assumed they were not Tikits which is a folder built by Bike Fridays but usually does not have that sticker attached - just "Tikit". It folds quicker than a Brompton but into a larger packet and it has deraillier gears. About the same price point.MattS

Ta Matt, I had initially thought that they were a club of some kind as all bikes had the sticker on them, and I happen to see them on a Friday.

Just founds a list of their models here.

Here's a cool little video which says a lot about the way a folder can transform your commute, even in the city of Genoa (Italy) which apparently cops as much flack as Sydney for having bike-hostile terrain (cheers to Nick at Cheeky for showing me this today)

Folders, Hope to see you all out riding your folders on the 2011 Tweed Ride on the 26th June. This ride is particularly suited to Folder fanciers in that is is ridden at a sensible pace in non lycra clothing over a course that suits a Folder ie no steep hills. Hope to see you all there. I will be atop my nanoBrompton. MattS

Strictly speaking, not a folder, but a small-wheeler.

Missing/Stolen from Old Toongabbie, NSW a couple of weeks ago. Brown Raleigh Twenty non-folding with brown brooks saddle. Has broken spokes in both wheels. If you see it, please contact me.
