The North Shore Times of May 8 reports that "a system of bike paths around Lane Cove was approved at Council on Monday night.

"Lane Cove's draft bicycle plan was passed unanimously after eight months of planning and community consultation.

"In the final draft, the council reported no paths would have a direct impact on bushland.

"On Monday night council also decided to get rid of bike path signposting on Dettman Ave [Longueville] because it could encourage people to ride through the Warraroon Reserve.

"Another porposed link from Sam Johnson Way to Lloyd Rees Drive was deleted because residents felt it would affect their privacy and devalue properties." [Ignorant NIMBYs!]
