Andy Friend the ex Canberra Brumbies Coach is doing a ride on the Bicentennial National Trail from Cooktown to Canberra to raise funds for acquired Brain Injury Research and Outward bound.
Andy has a blog of his journey on the 'The Friendly Ride' site and the pick of the photographs are on Andy's Facebook.
If anyone wants to go for a ride in the Blue Mtns let me know. The Oaks night ride is a semi regular thing, but it's usually posted on www.bmorc.com due to the traffic on there being more local. I'll hopefully be heading out this weekend to the tracks behind my joint (at Winmalee), so if anyone wants to tag along drop me a message.
The weekend of the 19th I'll be heading out to the Lithgow area for a 3 day, 300 kilometre smash fest. YOU BEAUTY!
JP, I went to BMORC website & tried registering, however it constantly gave me an error message that I needed to enter a valid location. apparently Penrith is not a valid location :(:(
Hmmm. Interesting. Put in another location, just get on there and come riding!
still not accepting me, I even tried "Blue Mountains". do you know anyone within the club that can look into this?
I'm interested in doing the 10B trail ride in Dharawal National Park and wondered if anyone is familiar with it? The description on the National Parks website says to park at the southern end of the track but, rather than driving, I hoped to train to Campbelltown, ride in via the northern end and then use other tracks (maybe Firetrail No 10) to continue to Darkes Forest Rd and Lawrence Hargrave Drive and train back from Stanwell Park. Some of the park trails have catchment restrictions on them so I don't know if this is possible. Any info much appreciated!
