Sounds very, very tempting.
Best part of Queensland (well I like it a lot)

I did the 08 one, the Corella Dare, the short version, Broken Hill to Whitecliffs, Milparinka, Hawkers Gate, McDougall's Well, Silverton, Broken Hill. The brave ones, about 40 out of the initial 60 riders, went on from Hawkers Gate to Alice Springs across trackless salt lakes and desert and blinding sand storms. Some then went on to Darwin I think. Epic.

The Corella Dare had a lot of sandy track across stations. Some riders just skim along, others like me tend to get easily bogged, but there is a technique you can learn. As I hadn't done any such riding before, it was hard going at times, but beautiful country. Id advise some practice on sand before hand, although this one might be more on road, in which case it will be bulldust and corrugations to practice for.

I am hoping to do a mini ride in July along the Darling, with a support vehicle to carry the red wine. Would like to do another Dare, maybe in 2011.

This year's Dare is starting from Cobar on 24 July and heading south then west to Ivanhoe via Willandra NP (old sheep station) then back to Cobar. If interested contact June Files in Broken Hill. efiles@bigpond.net.au
