Sydney Cyclist

Cycling in Sydney Australia

I reckon that it is time we slow cyclists gathered somewhere to partake in a slow ride around Sydney. Perhaps something nice and scenic, that would take us to a nice pub or cafe (or perhaps even do both!) I am committed to the Sydney Tweed Ride (by its nature it shall be a slow ride, so I strongly encourage you all to dress dapper and go (slowly) for it! But what do you all thing? I know that there is a nice one where you can take your time across the Pyrmont Bridge, go up towards the Sydney Harbour Bridge and then to Circular Quay. Perhaps stop at the Copenhagen Ice-cream place if it's still there. Or how about a pint at the Lord Nelson? Would be particularly appropriate for those of us who ride steel steeds of empire manufacture!

Sounds good.
I guess there are already a few rides around which might border on the 'slow' category. I'm thinking of the historic rides of Parramatta (which Paul from CAMWEST conducts around 4 times a year) and Burwood (which Greg Krix leads). A little farther afield, Goulburn BUG have put together an historic ride of Goulburn too.
I wonder whether it might be worthwhile putting together a list of existing 'slow' rides?

RobK,
Thanks for those suggestions! I'll take a look into them.
