Always the first thing to do on arrival at Bright: blow away the car-torpor by riding up there. Usually several degrees cooler in summer as well, given the exta 600m of altitude, although the humidity can make it a sweaty slog.

I did Buffalo the afternoon I arrived in Bright.
It was good for me to get my first +1,000m climb out of the way before tackling the AAC loop. I got some confidence knowing I could get up one big hill, so a few more should be so bad!

Definitely cooler up top. Great to get it right and ride up in the cool morning. Cool off on the way back down.
