Oppy gets a push out of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel
Members of the Australian OIympic Cycling Team accompany Sir Hubert Opperman (centre) through the SHT on opening day in August 1992. Oppy was the first cyclist to cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge almost 60 years earlier at the height of his stellar cycling career, and was accorded a similar honour for the Tunnel opening.

Wow. I didn't know about this. What incredible symmetry to a life of involvement with cycling.
I wonder if I would be as welcome if I were to cycle through the Sydney harbour tunnel?
