Thanks Susan! That was brilliant! What a perfect day..
Was really lovely meeting people today too. I was hoping to find people on Sydney Cyclist, but it's hard to know who's who with the alias names and pics. I wonder if it would be a good idea if…
Hey Susan, I've only just noticed this link - I'd definitely like to help out, either doing this or any other task you can throw my way.
Let me know how your volunteer numbers are coming along, and let me know how I can help out, either on the day o…
Hi Susan, what's the go with the Tweed Ride this year? Is it still going to be in June? Last time I heard it was going to be on 6th June - is that still the case? An update would be great....
Cheers, Ange
How's about we aim for a Sunday arvo ride on 30th May? We could start at 4.00pm, ride till 5.00pm (or later), then find some tasty food and a bevvy...?
Yeh I'm keen for a ride soon too - I've now got a road bike, and cleats, so I'm ready for a 'proper' ride! :-)
I'm keen on a ride before dinner, which would make it a weekend around this time of year. Perhaps a sunday arvo / evening? They seem to b…
Hi,
I thought it was meant to be over by 9am too but no that is just the window to start - between 7am and 9am. It takes as long as it takes but I think the road closures are until early afternoon.
Hey Ange,
I hope you're still interested (and registered) to do the Spring Cycle?? If you are, I suggested we meet at St Mary's Church steps on the corner of Miller and Ridge St, at 6.45am on Sunday for Spring Cycle, does that work for you?
Tanya
Met up with Adam, went down to the Lord Nelson, enjoyed a beer and a chat, went to the Fish markets for lunch (fish and beer) then eventually made our way closer to Victoria Park (near Sydney Uni). We had to part ways at Redfern Station - Adam had to go to band practice, and I cycled back towards Central. Would have gone all the way to Hyde Park, but I had commitments at 5:30pm, so catching a train home and ensuring I got there on time was important. Worked out quite well.
I plan to try some other get-togethers. I am looking at places around Sydney to ride, using bikely and some books which recommend certain routes. Hope to do another one in a few weeks. I was occupied over this weekend with an on-campus session for my correspondence subject at university.
Keep in touch, and I'll try to be better at organising these events. Oh, and I am very open to suggestions and ideas and generally hearing what sort of places you are interested in going, places you would like to eat, etc. I often just like to ride for the sake of riding and enjoying what-ever views I see, but I try to organise something that everyone can enjoy.
Hi,
