I almost choked when I read this. Articles at: The Australian, SMH, Bigpond news. Fighting climate change by paying people to buy a new car? You have to be joking.

Talks over "dangerous" bike lanes - from the Age

Press release here. I have sent them an email chasing up the issue. Next time I'm in Melbourne and driving down Albert St to go to a meeting, I'll need to know what dangers I face.

Uh oh...here we go...

Why don't they just have a helmet hire as part of the bike hire, with the same electronic tagging/security as the bikes? Have recyclable cardboard inserts to go between the head and the helmet for th…

Self righteous

Thanks for the update. I'm not passing it until next monday so I've been unable to check it out myself. If that's the case, it looks like one must either ride illegally on the foot path to press the…

Thanks for the update. I'm not passing it until next monday so I've been unable to check it out myself. If that's the case, it looks like one must either ride illegally on the foot path to press the button, or illegally run the red. Or one could wal…

All you have to do is press a button. I'm sorry if that is beyond your capabilities.. Is that button one for the lights or the buttons of people on this forum? I didn't realise there was a button accessible from the bike path until I looked it up on…

Union Square / Harris street street lights are an exception to many rules. If there was a small amount of car traffic, not just bike traffic heading west at this intersection, just like every other set of lights it would get a green light every time…

It's always best to stop and ask if things are OK. The presence of a second person can stop a situation like this getting ugly quickly. Some of my female friends and family ride this route in the evening. I'd like to think that if they ever get in…

Hahahahaha :D Bike registration.. pay fair shair.. administered by local councils.. Looks like Councillor Charles Matthews needs to think before he speaks. If his own council doesn't shoot him down, the rest of the councils in the state will.

Awesome campaign. Would love to see these in every shop and cafe window in the city - including Bourke St. Time to get it ingrained in the culture of the inner city.

It was such a great day, I really enjoyed going! I competed and got a time of 1:41. I was very happy with it, especially seeing it's the first time I've run it. My sister won the women's open event. Just like me, she cycles to work. That was our tra…

This post sounds more like a challenge than a warning. Having said that, I'm not that hardcore. I'll be riding very slowly because I hate lowing traction in the wet.

I have a simlilar question: What can you do when someone almost kills you? I had an incident this morning. Riding alone down Lilyfield road, taking the lane, no cars behind me. On the street coming up on my left there is a 4WD waiting to turn out.…

Helmets offer exceptional drainage, plus the straps come in handy if you're into those droopy hanging plants.

Ex racing mountain bike - hand me down from my sister but I've done a bit of work on it to make it go faster. I ride it 18km each way to work every day.
