"I used to do that commute, I'd go up past Macdonaldtown Station to Wilson St, the backroads to Prince Alfred, then around Central to get to George Street and battle my way up through the rush hour traffic. Not ideal. It was my first commute…"

"Going home is much faster than going to work.  One day I'm going to mix it with the traffic in Regent St and stay in the RHS lane, avoiding the ped crossing bit.   One day."

"When I did a bike count for Supertuesday at corner of City Rd and Broadway there were quite a few cyclists heading down City Rd from presumably Newtown and turning into either Broadway or Bay St, so that might not be too bad a way to go in peak…"

"Possibly not a route for the faint hearted, but the one I take from Erko to Town Hall.  I do see other bikes on this route all the time. Get onto Wilson Street.  Turn left onto Regent Street at Redfern Station and stay in the middle lane.…"

"Well, Google Maps do bike routes now, but their suggested route is somewhat convoluted. Personally, I'd probably not be going the Crown Street way. I'd probably shortcut through or next to the tech park to reach Redfern Station, then cut…"

Working out best path from Erskineville to Circular Quay

I live in Erskineville and work in Circular Quay and rode into work for the first time today along Mitchell st, then zig zagging through to Crown St, then Oxford St, Hyde Park and then macquarie st. The ride took me about 25minutes - I'll probably take 5 minutes off as learn the route a little better.Although it was a decent enough ride, is there a more direct route that I should be taking?See More
