Cycling in Sydney Australia
Well I have been back on the bike for a fortnight. On Tuesday week I rode to work for the first time since the accident. It was good to be out there even though I was a bit saddle sore and I was back in time for things to get a bit Alfred Hitchcock as regards the magpies. As things progressed the commute got better and I was able to get to and from work and too and from TAFE without any serious problems.
I also undertook one of my milestone rides. I said I would do the Goulburn Cycle…Continue
I have begun the second stage of the road back. I decided to take myself shopping the other day and decided to check out the pricing on helmets. Given the last one prevented the prang from being worse than it was, I decided to get one from the LBS rather than go online. I had planned to visit Yass earlier in the year when my wife was in Sydney for her high school reunion but wound up having to cancel that when the reunion was cancelled. For the past week she has been in Brisbane visiting a cousin who is suffering cancer and…Continue
I have been catching up with friends and family by riding from Canberra to Goulburn catching the train to either Springwood or Lithgow. I usually take the Federal Highway to Gollector then ride to Breadlebane and take the Hume Highway shoulder to Goulburn. The thing is touring is pretty much like commuting riding the same route gets boring. There are some quite interesting towns and villages in the Southern Tablelands that would make a good alternative to the regular route and yesterday I…Continue
