"I think Campbell St is supposed to be the alternative route to Oxford St. Getting you across to Castlereagh which will eventually have a cycleway on it as well and of course linking up to Bourke St Cycleway at the other end. It will be good for…"
"Up Young St - left at Bent - right at Macquarie - when you reach Hyde Park go straight - through the park - verge left at the fountain - here you will get to the College St Cycleway. Then you go up to Oxford St - left here at the lights (i like to…"
"I think what they are after is a buffer between the road sewer and the shops - and they believe the parked cars are a win win in that situation - people can park and they are a buffer at the same time. What they hate are big loud buses and fast cars…"
"My suggestion to you doing Katoomba (when going the station to The 3 Sisters) - best to use Lurline St (parallel to Katoomba St) - esp when coming back from The 3 Sisters. Lurline has a much more even gradient and has bike lanes on the side of…"
"Bob - David,
Do you have any targeted cycleways - infrastructure you would like to see in Marrickville? From my time in Marrickville I just remember the narrowest of busy roads. Addison - Marrickville - Victoria - Enmore - Sydenham Rds. No room for…"
"Looking more into this Coke - Bicycle Network thing - they are giving away 300 free bikes today in Penrith and Wollongong - is this a bad thing - getting people to start riding? Sure its sponsored by big sugar soft drink - and some bike group that…"
"I can only assume RMS want cyclists to avoid Oxford St. So Bourke St Cycleway - Campbell St Cycleway - Castlereagh Cycleway - Liverpool St Cycleway - Kent St Cycleway. But I just would have liked an option to go left down a King St…"
"Do we know how far along they are to building the a cycleway bridge over the Brook Street Ramp?
Im changing location to Willoughby from Marrickville and would still like to continue to cycle commute to UNSW. Is there much of a safety in…"
"What I prefer to do on the narrow streets in Marrickville and Newtown is to find a gap between the parked cars - press the bike against the cars and put my body in that gap - and let them go through."
"Being SHB specific - I feel its all about the perceived thought that there is a lack of cycling infrastructure in North Sydney. Why stress yourself out with riding a bike up or down the Pacific Hwy and Miller St when you can take the train or…"
"Ive really liked Centennial Park's other cycleways - Cleveland St and the new Alison Rd one. Both of these are really good to encourage new not confident cyclists - and thus increase the amount of cyclists overall. I feel the new cycleway next…"
"I would like bike boxes at that intersection. I already use one like a hook turn - so position myself going north up Anzac Pde towards Flinders going into the city. Coming back - take the centre lane - take the lane."
"I too was bemused by that statement - there hasn't been that much of a change between Anzac Pde and Bourke - Charles St I used to live near - there wasn't much of a change - repaving it to look like a shared zone.
Im liking the idea of…"
The four Everything's Connected videos are really great, thanks for pointing them out, you should perhaps start a discussion with links pointing these out, give them more prominence, people might miss the them buried in the videos section.
Well there isn't much to say about them really - its preaching to the converted here. But its good to see promotion for cycling. I suspect that the people here might make snide remarks about them - like the girl riding home from going out has no lights on her bike =) But it is complementary to the NY and London cycling promo material - personalising cycling by having a person talk about their experience cycling.
