I've ridden about half of the trip, driven between Cradle Mtn and Hobart many years ago, but not done too much in the way of current research on it. You could have a squiz at what I've done by bike at my website with either this trip or this one.. Both of them are substantially less arduous than the one that you looked at, and there is substantially less civilisation in many parts of that one. It will probably be a few years before I consider Tassie again due to various circumstances. It does not hold as much attraction to me as many of the mainland places that I've been and others that I plan to travel.
If you were after a real Tassiephile's opinion, NeilA would be your man. He's done lots of it and loves it to death.
The Tassie tourism mob have cycling maps of popular cycling routes on their website with profiles included. However, beware of them, they change the vertical and horizontal scales to fit the page rather than to enable easy comparisons between the days/routes.
