Hey Michelle, I am up for Sunday rides in the new year - although I travel a lot so may not be your most reliable riding partner. I am up for 20-50km rides, breaking a bit of a sweat (but not particularly fast), with coffee at the end. No Sundays free until the new year though - keep me posted if you want to start in Jan.
I got yr SC message about Sunday rides in an email, but can't seem to find it as a discussion on the site to respond to (not sure if it was?), so am dropping you a line instead!
I live in Drummoyne, usually commute and never do anything else - the SC community is terrific, but pretty terrible at getting its sh*t together in terms of groups :-) - so yes, am very much up for this idea!
I am normally busy at this time: I sing in a church choir, but we're having January off, and I haven't ridden to many of the places you mention (Homebush, etc), so am definitely up for it! Does that suit? I'm also not fast, and more interested in fitness and enjoyment. I might also bring a boy with me, if you don't mind. :-)
BTW, Leichhardt BUG also runs a regular Sunday morning ride - all over the inner west - just ping Bob Moore on the site, he'll point you in the right direction. They usually leave from a cafe in Lilyfield.
Cheers, and I hope we can get together for a ride soon!
I'll be back in Sydney next week and will be looking to get back into riding regularly - Sundays suit me well. I live in the eastern suburbs, but am happy to meet in the western suburbs and go from there.
I'm also keeping an eye on a couple of Sydney cycling groups on meetup.com - one seems to have a few Sunday rides planned, which may also be of interest to you.
