The map seems to have gone stale again. There are a few edits that happened more than a month ago that are not on the map yet. While it's frustrating, on the bright side, there will be a number of new routes marked when the map finally updates!

Looks like Prospect Ck area, although I've never encountered that particular monstrosity on my sojourns.

Is it the crossing of Salt Pan Ck, between Padstow & Riverwood? I don't remember a fountain there though....

Tell us about your bikes
Orbea Artea 'Travel Light' - The main bike
Malvern Star Commuter Hybrid - My old bike, which gets lent out to others.
Bob the trailer - Which doesn't fit on the Orbea.
About Me:
CAMWEST treasurer,
CAMWEST rep with Blacktown Council bicycle Steering committee
Recreational riding, mainly on weekends
Touring - Enjoy unsupported touring (and have a reputation for carrying a lot...I even take the kitchen sink sometimes). Have done the last 5 NSW Big Rides and a few other supported rides as well.
Would like to ride to work more often, but I find the 3 hour ride each way (using back streets and bike paths) is not conducive to a productive working day.

Gates, Corrugations and a great ride

Yesterday (Sat May 30th '09) four of us rode from Goulburn to Exeter via Canyonleigh (see bikely route).
It was a great day's riding - The company, the weather (We only really started copping showers in the last 10 km or so), the warm Canyonleigh General Store/Coffee shop, and most of the route was on fairly quiet rural roads. The fact that around 30 of the 70 km was along unsealed roads may have been a contributi… Continue

2 day Rooty Hill to Moss Vale Tour Ride Report

For quite some time I'd been wanting to find a safe and enjoyable way of cycling out of Sydney to the south. A few years back a group of us started a tour at Moss Vale (See Moss Vale to Nowra via Numerella Tour). I've done some other riding around the Southern Highlands and beyond, but never felt comfortable about cycling there from Sydney. I'd taken part in the 2003 Big Ride, which sta… Continue

Great ride at Christmas

Although not around Sydney, I did a fantastic 30+ km ride while visiting my parents in Bairnsdale over Christmas. I'd been thinking of doing this ride for a couple of years, and finally did it. I wish I could do it more often....See Route Description and a few photos.

Hi Rob
Haven't heard from John regarding car park marshall but that will be good. I can make it on Tuesday night where is it held? Should I do the ride after if so what would be the best distance, or do you want me to volunteer for the day? Thanks Rob

Hi Rob, thanks for the tip. I have a busy couple of days ahead of me but I'll check out the bus option as soon as I get a chance. A lift with John is also a possibility. I'd really like to do the ride, and to meet some new faces.

Hi Rob I will think about joining you. I have to work out a priority for a TAFE course that I am doing. But I am curious about the area your are describing. I have been to Mitchell Park as a child and have not been there since. I will confirm by Friday.

G'day Rob,

"Now if only someone would do the same thing but highlighting the cycling routes, like Open Cycle Map.....!"

I'm not sure whether you are only referring to off road cycleways here or routes in general, but the off road cycleways in the Newcastle area are shown in OSM as blue dots.
