"To Willoughby Council's credit they have obtain 50/50 funding to relocate this section of the cycleway.  It will be at a higher level hence reducing the climb and moving the intersection well away from the bridge / underpass."

Yeah, I realised after I wrote that idea about the Harbourlink paths that a bridge over the freeway would be required for pedestrians since the East SHB path isn't simply on the other side of the railway from the West SHB path, but on the other side of the freeway as well. This would probably be too expensive I guess...

Russ, yes know all about the proposed Harbourlink.
I ride up Walker Street to Ridge from North Sydney and then over the shared pedestrian bridge into Neutral Bay, so am hoping it comes off. That said, do we have to share it with pedestrians? I'd rather ride on the road than have to dodge iPod-wearing, texting ditherers!

Yeah, understand Russ. We have to share. Would be good if pedestrians could be educated about sharing with bikes. The Council Rangers on Pyrmont Bridge at Darling Harbour are quick to tell bikes to slow down, what about telling pedestrians to watch where they're going?! Thanks for all your efforts on this one.

Not too au fait with the technicalities. Could be that friend option didn't appear because I hadn't 'accepted' a previous frieind request from you. Glad to be aligned with you Russ - have enormous respect for your efforts. However, not exactly the advocacy type myself. Cheers.
