I must admit, I've been honked and shouted at more here and my behavior (legal!) hasn't changed. I would also say the state of the roads is worse here, I think it has something to do with heat cracking the surface; ice doesn't have the same destructive effect.
I used to live in Glebe, across the Parramatta Road from you, good bike shop half way up Glebe Point Road!!

I wouldn't classify all UK as bike friendly.
