"Purpose of the bend in is to put physical seperation between the road edge where turning heavy vehicles may crush a vulnerable user.  In some cases its also used to provide a space for a car to turn in and have its boot clear of passing traffic…"

"Both 30km/ and full lanes signs missing. The other one they are missing is "GIVE WAY TO CYCLISTS", and associated road markings so that councils can build priority cycle intersections if required.  "

Crown St improvements

City of Sydney is upgrading Crown St in Surry Hills between Cleveland & Devonshire.Changing from suicide lanes to mixed traffic, but maintaining 40km/h(!) speed limit and for some reason introducing solid centre lines (meaning it'd be illegal to overtake a hipster cruising along at 15, even if safe). Having no centre line at all would calm and slow traffic, as opposing drivers would have to negotiate with each other for space.Submissions close Sunday 2nd June.…See More

"Great result, though we shouldn't have to have these small battles with a pro-integrated transport council. How do they get through the intersection at present? Do they cross in 2 stages, stopping in the middle of the road? These guys have…"

Chris replied to Kylie's discussion City of Sydney proposal for Wigram Rd, Ross St intersection, Forest Lodge
"Jason, agree we don't need to worry too much about bike traffic on Wigram Rd. But the issue here is the blockage of Ross St. When Harold Park is open Ross St will form part of a key bicycle route/desire line connecting University of Sydney,…"

Chris replied to Kylie's discussion City of Sydney proposal for Wigram Rd, Ross St intersection, Forest Lodge
"It's a pathetic solution for pedestrian traffic also. The crossings are well away from the desire lines. People won't use them unless they need to use the kerb ramps, so they'll end up hopping between medians. Crossing Ross St (N)…"
