short story or long story? you take your pick
SHORT STORY-
Drove SYD-ACT Saturday morning. Did an 85km- 6hrs 10min ride on rough single track at Mt Stromlo. Finished it just. Of 32 starters in my category, I came in 19th. Bike and body are busted. Drove back to Syd Sat arvo/night. Now in recovery mode.

Since my last race day, i put plenty of thought into what I should do next. The lead up couple of weeks was very hectic with plenty of riding, running and squash. The legs were sore and a couple of light rides leading into helped soothe the legs. (10km with the trailer and daughter on Saturday, and 30kms of fire trails on Sunday- followed up with an epsom salt bath Sunday night)

i've been (what I consider serious) cycling for around 13 months now . I entered in the B2B a couple of months ago, and after reading a thread on SC about racing, decided I'd dip my toe into the racing scene again.
The Beaumont Rd Criteriums hosted by NSCC was where I was headed, and had no idea about how i'd go, how quick i would be, and what the rules & etiquette were all about.
