"Sometimes it can be good to be a bit arsey to be classy. Manly council is putting in the good stuff with another cbd road (Raglan Street) with wider foot paths and bike lanes on both sides two. Only short but sends out the right message."
"We were informed recently that close to 12 residents are very well organised and all email council's engineer when they deem it appropriate. The residents are unreasonable in their demands. Clearly cyclists need to be even more careful in…"
I noticed from a post of a few days back that you'd like to become active in the BH shire. Camwest used to have a rep on the bicylcle steering committee (Danny Hannan). BH shire was relatively cyclist friendly 5-10 years back. Unfortunately, staff change. Danny has other priorities now. I think there's been some moves within camwest to try and resurrect the steering committee. So, not sure whether you want to try and work in with us, or approach it on your own. Suggest you contact John H on this forum to discuss. Unfortunately, camwest at present has less than 10 active members. We're trying to cover the whole of Western Sydney (around 1 million people) because no-one else seems to want to do it. Obviously, there are lots of gaps! I'd encourage you to go for it - either as part of camwest or separate. If separate though, I'd encourage you to keep the dialogue up with us! I also put in a submission on behalf of CAMWEST for the Quakers Hill -Vineyard line duplication. Happy to forward a copy if interested.
Meant to mention today - If you're interested, we're having a CAMWEST Christmas BBQ on Sunday (12-4pm) at Pemulway. John H won't be there, but several other CAMWESTies will. Just thought it may be a good opportunity to pick people's brains I can forward details if interested.
