"Some results from the survey are up on the council now, and were on display at the Hornsby markets today. http://hornsbypark.com.au/consultation-feedback/ Mountain biking featured strongly in the responses."

"I've had a look for the no access area for Anzac Rifle Range in Malabar and failed to find the info. If you look at page 17 of the safety doco, it shows the full bore range with not a huge distance to the ocean.  So based on this…"

"I think you'll find the gun folks were quite happy with the previous arrangement.  The police safety audit is what triggered all the changes."

"Yes, and no. The Benowie track is well below line of sight from the range, and used to be open to walkers, but is now closed, AFAIK. The only risk is if someone shot up at an angle of 85deg or so.. ie: effectively zero, but it is closed,…"

"It's a pity the quarry trail runs along that ridge line. If it followed a contour line about 50 metres further west it would likely be sufficiently below the ridge line that there would be no issues from stray bullets."

About Me:
Born and raised in Rhodesia, lived through the 'liberation struggle' and 'transformation' of Rhodesia into Zimbabwe. Went to Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town. Worked in advertising up in Johannesburg and survived commuting on my bike in Jo'berg traffic. Founding member of Johannesburg MTB Club where I met the love of my life. Raced XC at national & provincial level. Established and edited RIDE Magazine, and co-authored 4 books on MTB in RSA. After baby nr. 3, we decided that the 'transformation' of South Africa shared too many ominous similarities with that of Zimbabwe and there wasn't going to be a pot of gold for us or our kids at the end of the Rainbow Nation...thus we embarked upon the very difficult (and expensive) decision in 2004 to wipe out our entire identity and network in one flight far, far south to Sydney. Becoming more thickly settled as each year passes, although I do sometimes miss the wild freedom of chaos and the lack of stifling regulation, that is life in Africa...

The coolest kind of artwork, is one that can take you places... I'm extremely chuffed with how my latest custom airbrushed Phoenix bike turned out. Now I'm sharing the ride-with you!

This is a my piece of Functional Art. For a change, I have custom airbrushed a new, plain black carbon fibre hardtail mtb frame for myself. My left-brained husband built it up for me from all the…

Hello Susanne

You can find out about Wollongong cycleway here
http://www.wollongong.nsw.gov.au/facilities/sportrec/Pages/cycleways.aspx

The ride north along the beaches is nice provided the wind isn't howling like it has been the past week.
