Good cycling routes from Mascot

Cycling from Mascot to? (Sculpture by the Sea &/or possibly Hyde Park?) My daughter has a 3 hour job interview from 9H30 tomorrow morning, so I thought I'd take myself off for a ride in the general area. As we are from Galston, I don't know the safest/best bicycling routes in the city area at all !  Any suggestions for a nice ride from Mascot (and where to park, safe from ranger danger) would be very much appreciated.…See More

About Me:
Born and raised in Que Que, Rhodesia, lived through the 'liberation struggle' and 'transformation' of Rhodesia into Zimbabwe. Went to Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town. Worked in advertising up in Johannesburg and survived commuting on my bike in Jo'berg traffic. Founding member of Johannesburg MTB Club where I met the love of my life. Raced XC at national & provincial level. Established and edited RIDE magazine, and co-authored 4 books on MTB in RSA. After baby nr. 3, we decided that the 'transformation' of South Africa shared too many ominous similarities with that of Zimbabwe and there wasn't going to be a pot of gold for us or our kids at the end of the Rainbow Nation...thus we embarked upon the very difficult (and expensive) decision in 2004 to wipe out our entire identity and network in one flight far, far south to Sydney. Becoming more thickly settled as each year passes, although I do sometimes miss the wild freedom of chaos, and the lack of stifling regulation that is life in Africa...

Airbrushing a Ridley Noah

I'm making good progress on airbrushing a Ridley Noah CF frame, with some rather complex graphics...in duplicate. I'm 'blogging' the process on http://www.facebook.com/susiestudio , for those of you out there who are interested in following...

The pic. below is where I am at today. I've completed the airbrushing on the angels, now it's hand-brushing in the miniature details. Next I tackle a graphic on the head…

Wollongong weekend.

Posted on July 17, 2011 at 12:25pm 3 Comments

Just got back from my mum & daughter weekend in Wollongong, first time I have ever visited it. In spite of the inclement weather, we managed to pack in a slow, two hour ride north, towards Ocean Park. What a lovely ride- all next to the sea and the beaches, all on bike paths, so safe for the family. I would like…

Hello Susanne

You can find out about Wollongong cycleway here
http://www.wollongong.nsw.gov.au/facilities/sportrec/Pages/cycleways.aspx

The ride north along the beaches is nice provided the wind isn't howling like it has been the past week.
