Second race ever. Heffron park, this saturday just past.
On Advice from an experience heffron campaigner, i head to the front early to have a token turn in the lead. As i go to make my way to the back for a rest, a 3 man breakaway goes at the pimples and i foolishy (i now realise) chased them down. I was hoping to make it a 4 man breakaway but alas the pack came with us. After that effort i slowly started to make my way to the back but the pace never slowed. After 4 laps the avergage… Continue

So, i went in my first race on the weekend at heffron park. Too much fun!!
My goal for the day was to show up and race. if i managed to stay with the pack then that would be a bonus. With that in mind i immediately went to the back of the pack and stayed there for the entire race. figured couldn't get in anyones way back there.
14 laps and i stayed with them easy enough. no real energy expended. a couple of interesting surges here and there but nothing to bust the pack up.… Continue

As metioned in a previous post, i've been thinking about getting into cycling as a sport. Well, this satruday my brilliant racing carrer will begin. I'm going to be racing at heffron park this saturday.
I was thinking i should train until i thought i was fit enough, but i'm bored with that idea already. i figure i might aswell just jump in and have a crack. My goal for this weekend is simply to show up and race. if i finish it'll be a bonus, but i'm in no way expecting… Continue
