"The weight of my bike (including accessories and luggage) is close to half my body weight. That's not a problem when I'm actually riding the bike. The hard part is carrying it up stairs or pushing it across sand."

Sydney Tweed Ride 2013

The Sydney Tweed Ride was started in 2009. After seeing how stylish the London Tweed Run held earlier in the year looked it was decided that Sydney needed an equally oustanding event. Since then the numbers of riders have continued to increase and has led to a dedicated band of tweed enthusiasts who eagerly await the annual ride.See More

Eight years of being Captain Dashboard

Posted on July 28, 2018 at 11:30pm 3 Comments

Eight years ago today was the day I first made the detachable dashboard for my bike.

All the accessories have changed over the years, as has the mounting system. The portion of handlebar is the only part that remains from the original.

When I take it indoors, it's a great conversation…

Captain Dashboard would be proud

Earlier this year, I saw a blog post here about having an accessory bar, and I thought it was a good idea. Having about as many accessories as Captain Dashboard, I could do with some extra space.

That said, I did consider that having extra capacity might not be a good idea, as I would probably then be tempted to add even more accessories.… Continue

I might have had a clue about where your bike was from the listing on your page...

But I was still a bit doubtful since those trees look like Aussie Casuarinas and that wall might be in front of almost any Australian motorway.

Hey Kerry - now that I've looked at yr pictures and read that you like chocolate, I think we may have met on a ride sometime last year! It'd be fun to catch up next Tues, on the flimsy pretext of the Census. Let's hope it doesn't rain on Tues, eh??

I'm in Edward Ford (Public Health) - where do you tend to lurk?

Michelle :-)

Hi Kerry - some combination of food (chocolate?? Do say yes!), Scrabble and linguists sounds like WIN! What times will you guys be there, and in what room? I'll come along at some point - can't say yet when - for mutual back-slapping and chocolate consumption... :-)

Kerry!! I'm so sorry to've missed you: I was in-the-middle of an Important Task until... 3pm, by which time I found you'd already left. :-(

Since you like chocolate, let me make it up to you: I have ordered some very special stuff, which should be arriving in the next day or so. I'm very happy to part with some, to a fellow conoisseur. :-) I'll get back to you?

Apologies again! I hope you got some good triple-word scores - Michelle
