"Yep, the southern side IC bridge shared path is still open, at least during normal commute time.  I expect this will change at some point in the coming months, fortunately there is the northern shared path to use in the meantime (even though…"

Tim replied to Bob Moore's discussion Demolition of Lilyfield Rd footbridge over Victoria Rd
"Earlier this week, I saw a cyclist coming east from City West link, under the Vic Rd car tunnel, and up the main approach to the bridge, before ducking onto the shared path at the soldier.  Possibly trialing his new route??"

Tim replied to Bob Moore's discussion Detours- another one, on Bay Run.
"Thanks for the info Bob.  Thumbs up from me.  The bay run improvements there are necessary, given the current squeeze between City West Link and the bay.  As long as the diversion is safe, we should put up with a bit of inconvenience…"

Bob Moore replied to Tim's discussion Austroads report released - Bicycle Safety at Roundabouts
"Maybe best strategy is to go left of the cushion if no traffic behind you, but suffer the bump if a car driver is being impatient behind you, ie showing signs of trying to pass on approach.  Thinking about it, dangerous I know, putting cushions…"

fenn_paddler replied to Tim's discussion Austroads report released - Bicycle Safety at Roundabouts
"True you tend to go left or right on a bike to avoid the cushion. But having had numerous near misses over a 10 year period commuting this way, I must say this is a major improvement. Well done to anyone involved in helping make this happen. "

Bob Moore replied to Tim's discussion Austroads report released - Bicycle Safety at Roundabouts
"That’s good, except the speed cushions IMO anyway tend to make cyclists go left or right around them and not keep to the centre of the lane, where you should be on approach."

Yeah no worries, assuming I can find it... I think it's a standard USA port that you can probably get from any computer shop, but if I find it I'll let you know. I have an SD card reader on my laptop so I always used that.

Ok no probs. Fitness is getting there, although I did get the train to work today for the first time since getting the bike. I still need my weekends off cycling to recover though - the friday night commute home is always a killer!
