"Punching works for me...... There is the one street that is avoidable where my resident 'pie lives. BTW - Once it's dark they don't bother."

"Same, at 60kmph (downhill, in case you were wondering). I'd love to be able to outrun them on the flat at that speed, but alas I don't utilize the beach ball faring. A friend of mine swears by giving them a refreshing blast of water from…"

"Maybe get a doberman, and have it run with you as you ride. A work colleague once told me he'd seen a doberman snatch a harassing magpie out of the air, crunch it twice, then spit it out in a crumpled heap. I don't know if that's true…"

"Exactly. A magpie won't care or differentiate really if you're wearing a helmet or not. They see someone / something they decide is a threat to their nest they'll attack it. Strangely enough I have encountered magpies that seem to…"

"Well unfortunately it's just a matter of finding them. Last year there was a very aggresive one that actually came at my face on one of my regular routes. I reported it to the local council as in some cases they will move (well they say move…"

""Basic reason is try finding a nice aggressive magpie and walk/run past it without a helmet. I know they've swooped me many a time in such a situation." Last summer I remember jogging a few laps around Erskineville oval and every…"

"I tend to try to avoid any particularly aggressive ones. Good tactic. Maybe. The question then is: Other than by looking at a website listing attack sites, HTF can you know where these particularly aggressive ones hang out??"
