weiyun replied to Hector Lupuche-Oviedo's discussion stolen bike in Broadway shopping centre just now!!
"Ouch and that hurts. No one knows the chance of recovery. By all means report it, but also check local bike stores, pawn shops and just general around. Posting photos and posts on various forums can also help. Good luck!"

weiyun replied to Bob Moore's discussion Speed limit review
"In those cases speed signs make no difference. Changing 50 to 40km/h will just be ignored and at either limits they are facing straight DQ of their license. So this has no practical value."

weiyun commented on Richard Tulloch's blog post DO THE KIWIS HAVE THE BEST CYCLE TOURING?
"Oh nice! That's Crown Range Pass, supposedly the highest paved road in NZ. Shame you rode up but not down towards Queenstown. We were there in Jan and loved it. I understand Sth Island is far more bike friendly than Nth Island. Whilst there, we…"

"I don't think this should be promoted. Copy-cat crimes has been demonstrated to be real and this will just give more crazies ideas when put under similar circumstances."

Sorry for that crack about Celeste being "girly", Chief. Bianchis are the best, of course!

Hi Weiyun, thanks for sparking my interest in the CNSW insurance yesterday because I went to the BUG link on their web site just now and the insurance document claims to be current (2008/2009). It says that Public Liability insurance is available 24/7 but personal accident insurance is only available on sanctioned events and training rides. My understanding from Kevin Y last year was that both would be available 24/7 so I have sent an email to CNSW clarify this. P.L. is the "big one" in that you could be sued for lots of money by a 3rd party in the event of an accident and P.A. is not as "big" if you have workers' compensation and/or private health fund cover, but I did think the latter was available to me whenever I was on the bike. I will let you know when KY replies.
