roads are so wide in Adelaide, but the drivers are so bad too. I have been there once (and I rode my bike) and that was my experience. The place is laid out like a 'Giant Canberra', and bakeries are open all night. no big hills , just a gentle grad…

DaveW was an asset and a top bloke .. if I agree with his writing or not... IS NOT THE POINT. his point of view was sometimes refreshing and sometimes comical but always good. check you coat in at the door.

Dave W was the oracle for all things, internal gears, how to cart one or two kids ON a bike, the peculiarities of light refraction and the wonderful world of bright colours and fawn coloured gun dogs. It would be nice to have him back.

I own a few bikes and I use them like most folks change shirts
About Me:
I like bikes . I like coffee and I like you
Website:
http://grubgrob.blogspot.com

I ride and a have eyes.
I am one of those guys who likes to ride in traffik.. I was a bike courier for 12 years and I enjoyed every second of it. I would not do it again in the future but I have no regrets doing in in the first place.

I was a sponsored BMX rider when I was 14 and that was the same year I got sent to boarding school in the country.

I have a nice pic of of when i was 2.5 riding in cowboy boots and no training wheels, I'm very proud of that (see above)
I work in a bike shop and have been there for almost 10 years.

I hate fakers and appreciate most things. I drink a lot of coffee and I enjoy casual bike riding more than races. Saying that I have been solo in 12 hour racing and dream of perhaps a 24 hour race. I have dome mega distance events and enjoy it a lot. The only actual racing I may take seriously is Audax.

I am the web admin of sydbma.org

I managed to pull my first real distance wheelie at age 38.

(usually I hate using the royal "I" when describing something about myself, I tend to think the more "I"s I use the more blind I am.)

Fixies suck.

it seems that the view of bikes is the same everywhere.

the perspective about bikes in the eyes of car drivers and the way the media portrays the subject seems to be the same in all (apparently white and sophisticated mentality), no matter what country you are in.
Here is a link about Bike Registration in Philly. The reason I have put this link here is that I am quite amazed at how the comments on this art… Continue

Everywhere you look... the anti cycling view is becomming more and more obvious. forget Magda sterotypes

there is a debate going about in some place on this ever shrinking globe of bicycle registration and in other places Heavy fines for bikes and in others a total break down of human behavior. From News readers running down a cyclist. A former Governor or the State in Canada hits from behind (from a stopped position) to running them down and then dragging them into objects on the side of the road and Killing them. Locally the infamous JASON basically walks away from stopping in front of a pack of… Continue

today ... was an interesting day

Lazy and arrogant drivers rule our world...
Today I saw a lady drive right through a pedestrian crossing without slowing down till after the thud.

All I heard was the lady say "oh No!" as she tried to take a step... she was helped off the road by about a dozen by-standers.

The Lady who hit her just seemed oblivious of the crossing. the crossing has been there for years and the lady who hit her was no tourist.

I could hear the Ambo and Police arrive from my house shortly after....

and… Continue
