I am after a bit of advice on riding on the Pacific Highway from Tweed Heads to Sydney. This year is 10 years since I was diagnosed with Leukemia and had a bone marrow transplant, so this year I am hoping to raise some money for a couple of foundations that supported me when I was unwell. Hi everyone today I took part in Amy's Ride Canberra 2011. This year they had combined it with the Big Canberra Bike Ride. I took Black Magic for the ride. I packed a 2nd tube and the full puncture repair kit. I got to the park in front of old parliament house and picked up my number. I got the jersey I ordered and a free T-shirt from a previous event - probably the Parra Pedal ride, I packed all this into the jersey pockets. Hey... long story short. When I was in sydney I bought a brand new "Speedwell Classique 10 Spd" at a furniture auction, (I call it brand new as the bloke bought it for his wife and she never got around to riding it and it sat in the garage all it's life). Just after the floods flowed through Emerald, this bike was stolen. SHORT STORY-

 

Drove SYD-ACT Saturday morning.  Did an 85km- 6hrs 10min ride on rough single track at Mt Stromlo.  Finished it just.  Of 32 starters in my category, I came in 19^th.  Bike and body are busted.  Drove back to Syd Sat arvo/night.  Now in recovery mode.

A couple of weekends ago it was Baby Chillikebab’s first birthday, so we had a party. We baked a stupidly big cake, which Baby Chillikebab wasn’t allowed to have.

We also supplied cold drinks to the guests (well, the adult ones at least), so in the morning I set out to get ice.
