Where in the world is my bike? 30/5/10

Thought that this bollard system would be unique enough to be quite rare. Can't get the bike and trailer through and decided I didn't want to take the kids out, take the trailer off, then lift everything over, so I just stopped here took the photo and continued riding.…

Just Another Night on the Road? (Sequel to: Just Another Day on the Road?)

We awoke early with the tang of smoke in our nostrils but, fortunately, on opening the tent flap saw the nearby countryside was yet unblackened by ubiquitous bushfire.

Just Another Day on the Road?

Cycle touring is surely the most fun you can have on two wheels. Traversing peaceful countryside on a bicycle carrying everything you need for a camping holiday is the ultimate in travelling freedom. So, touring by tandem should be twice the fun. 1st Crieterium event yesterday- good result but still a lot to learn

i've been (what I consider serious) cycling for around 13 months now . I entered in the B2B a couple of months ago, and after reading a thread on SC about racing, decided I'd dip my toe into the racing scene again.

The Beaumont Rd Criteriums hosted by NSCC was where I was headed, and had no idea about how i'd go, how quick i would be, and what the rules & etiquette were all about.

Shopping by bike.

Today I rode to the shops after a Pedal Power ride. It has been a while since I did a full shopping load by bike. I loaded the calico bags I use for shopping into the panniers and rode off to Westfield Woden. Most of the way was bike path, however I did use the road for part of the way.

So, I picked up a new toy a few days ago.

Well, I use the term "new" loosely. This "new " toy is 27 years old. But it's "new" in the sense that I'm the first consumer to have purchased it from the retailer.

Cycle touring in Japan

Hi there,

Planning a cycle touring trip to Japan for two weeks with my bro towards the end of September. Hoping to explore lots of
mountainous country (love riding up big hills). Anyone have any general
advice for cycle touring in Japan and/or route tips? Looking to fly
Jetstar. However, with a 20kg weight limit including bike (plus 10kg of
hand luggage) going to have to pack light.

Suggestions for Europe Trip

My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Europe for June/July and we will be bringing the bikes with us. The plan is:

1 week in Copenhagen

2 weeks touring along the North Sea Eurovelo route from Copenhagen to Amsterdam

1 week in Amsterdam

A few days around Rotterdam, Brussels at the first stages of Le Tour

1 week in Berlin

1 week in Zurich

A few days in Tokyo
