Cycling in Sydney Australia
It's summer here, and we headed north towards Germany for holidays. Almost every city on the way is encouraging cycling, it seems. It's annoying. Every town, except for anywhere I live, is a cycling paradise.
On the way via train, I stopped in Milan for about 6 hours, getting a public bike. Each station says you need to sign up at an ATM. After discovering a big sign saying ATM near the main square, and following the tunnels to the office, ATM is: the…Continue
I have recently taken up a position in Sydney for work. I will be living in Neutral Bay, and was hoping if anyone can provide with some good cycling routes in that area. I am looking for various lengths - 30km,60km and 100km rides.

I was considering running Schwalbe Marathon Supremes on a custom Surly CX (general duties - rider weight 68kg). Thoughts are, 32s on the rear, 28s up front. The question is, does anyone have first hand experience with these tyres. Do they run to stated size, or are they under or over stated spec, as can be sometimes the case? Thank you for any feedback....Sharky
In a moment of madness, I bought Mrs Dan a bike for her birthday. Her first bike since she was twelve years old. You can read about the lead up to this, and a review of the actual bike in part 1 of this blog post.
She was, it’s fair to say, rather shocked.…Continue
When Michael O' asked for examples of crap cycling infrastructure, my mind immediately went to the Victoria Road SUP, which I traverse on most days. So on the way home tonight I took a few pictures. A few of the choice ones are below - although this is really just scratching the surface of all the hopelessness this route has to offer.
A few years…Continue
