I'm after a very cheap, old, crappy (not necessarily road worthy), fixed gear or single speed bike. It's basically to be permanently attached to the stationery trainer / rollers so I don't have to keep changing the wheels on my track and road bike. Complete or part there of, I would be interested in. Obviously not looking to spend a lot of cash. Problem is - I'm short (153cm), so I would likely fit on a kids bike. Anyone know anyone that has some old parts or small bike they want to get ride off cheaply?

Well trying to not look like I'm being a rabid advertiser.... but. If you feel like a bit of a trip out to Fairfield you can have a look at the Western Sydney Cycling Networks stock. Here the clubs volunteers recycle/fix up old bikes and sell them back out into the community normally for $25 with a helmet.

There generally are a pretty varied cross section of bikes in terms of style and size that are fixed and ready to go. Though if you are after one which more or less has two spinning wheels on it we have racks full of bikes that have yet to be looked at. Check out http://www.westernsydneycyclingnetwork.com.au/ or our group here on Sydney Cyclist.

$25 generally would be cheap in my books :).

I have a 650c back wheel with cassettes if you want to use it as a spare, so that you don’t destroy your wheels. I used to use it on my trainer when I was doing the triathlon thing. I am happy to just give it to you if you ride 650c wheels.
